High level of interest in new Irrigation & Exit Grants

The Service has had a high level of enquiries for information and assistance with applications for the $20,000 Irrigation Management Grants. As there is no income test and the assets test limit is $750,000 most irrigators should be eligible.
There has also been a high level of interest in the new $150,000 EC Exit Grants. The grants have a more generous assets test than the previous Farm Help Re-establishment Grants. Farmers interested in selling their farms can apply to Centrelink for a pre-assessment of their eligibility although no grant will be paid until the farm is sold. Successful applicants can also access $10,000 Professional Advice & Retraining Grants and/or $10,000 Re-location Grants.
